These two! They got married at this really cute venue in Snohomish, that has these grounds of massive greenery and gorgeous gardens, but is also kind of quirky & silly too with these darling little buildings where you can definitely see the owner’s fun touch. Add to that that they also had a school bus on site for toting around guests, and I was just having so much fun with their photos! Sometimes I realize that the strangest things are coming out of my mouth while I’m shooting and I don’t even realize it, and during their portraits I said something about being in the mood for some really “weird photos.” And of course I don’t even remember why I said that, but I do remember Karen saying, “Can we have some not so weird photos too?!” At that moment, I felt very thankful for couples who trust me, even when I’m being really weird.
Similarly to so many weddings that I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of, the resounding theme of this wedding was the love of family. For instance, Karen’s sisters were her maids of honor, and Duncan’s dad was his best man… personal details like that make me think of all the wonderful stories that they get to share with their children in the future, about the day that they gathered with all of their loved ones and had a big happy day full of love.
