Uncle Jimmy, folks. I wrote about him a bit in my last post here, but these photos are from a few months later, when my best friend Samm Blake asked me to second shoot a wedding with her in Nashville, and I was like “yeehaw!” We ended up shooting the most ridiculous, quintessential Nashville wedding that you could ever possibly imagine… and then the next couple of days, exhausted and feeling damn lucky, I spent with Michael’s Uncle Jimmy and his family who I’d been dying to meet for so long, and also got the tour of his studio. It was a dream whirlwind of a trip.
Jimmy Abegg is an incredible artist who suffers from macular degeneration, but he just keeps on keepin’ on and is in the process of having a studio built in his backyard, since he no longer has the option to drive to his old studio. This man is a gift to the art world, and if you would like to donate to the building of this studio (or even buy some original Abegg art!), you can do so here: https://jimmyabegg.com/pages/build-blind-jimmys-lighthouse
