erin & topher’s wedding // golden gardens bathhouse // seattle, wa

This is a Happy First Anniversary post to the most amazing, Erin & Topher. They had a very intimate & ridiculously fun wedding exactly one year ago yesterday, and revisiting the photos today made me feel something different than I’d felt before…

All I can say is, the photos feel to me like one big hug.

I want to give a big huge thank you to my friend Joey Early who photographed this wedding with me… a good many images in here are from him (including, of course, the one of me dancing!), and I feel so incredibly inspired when working with him. Plus shooting in my own hood at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse for the first time together was a dream!

Sometimes I don’t remember much that happened at the end of the day, but Joey reminded me that at one point I said, “okay guys, I’m feeling really weird. I’m in a weird mood.” And I ended up with some weird photos to prove it, but I love that everyone there just let me go with it & ride out my weirdness that day.

So of course I’d like to send out a big huge hug to Erin & Topher, who put so much love & attention into their wedding, but still had plenty of love & attention to shower on everyone at their wedding–including Joey & me–and then had even more love & attention & affection to give to each other all throughout this fantastic day. The details of this wedding were so cool… the handpainted sugar skulls, the vintage clothes, the stole given to Erin by her grandmother, the gifts of favorite books that they surprised each other with, taking shots during their vows to each other, the record player with a crate full of records that all the guests got to play DJ on… all of these were so cool, but the best detail of this wedding was the unashamed outpouring of love that ended up being the real theme of this beautiful day. It felt almost palpable, and even looking at these photos, I remember how absolutely awe-struck & fulfilled I felt after spending all day in a room filled with so much love.

Happy Anniversary, Erin & Topher, and thank you for having me along at your wedding… a day that I will never, ever forget.

Now, let’s all hug!
